Abstract

Collaboration with Da Camera of Houston Suggested Donation $10

The Rothko Chapel hosts Da Camera of Houston, who will perform Morton Feldman’s masterpiece, Rothko Chapel, which was inspired by the composer’s visit to the Chapel in 197l. Associated with the New York School of experimental composers, Feldman was close to major figures in the arts and was friends with Mark Rothko. This performance is held in conjunction with Da Camera’s recording of this iconic work. Performers include Kim Kashkashian, viola; Steven Schick, percussion, Sarah Rothenberg, celeste, Lauren Snouffer, soprano, and Houston Chamber Choir, Robert Simpson, conductor.
