Abstract

Baba Ifalade and D.R.U.M. on the Chapel Plaza Suggested donation $10

D.R.U.M. is an award-winning African percussion ensemble led by Baba Ifalade (Alafia Gaidi), lead vocalist and performer, and practitioner of African traditional religion and culture. D.R.U.M. stands for Divine Rhythm, United Motion. The group has won the Houston Press’s “Best World Beat Band” on numerous occasions. Their hour-long, family-friendly performance of African and African-diaspora music will include singing and storytelling. A reception for the audience will follow the performance.
