Abstract
With Michael Ciborski
Michael Ciborski will share his insights into happiness based on his many years of training in mindfulness practice and striving to bring understanding, compassion, and healing to the world. He and his wife are the founders of MorningSun, a spiritual community centered on the practice of mindfulness, the moment to moment awareness of all that encompasses one’s body and the world around it. Their commitment is to bring a spiritual dimension into their lives and families and to society. As a practice, mindfulness provides support for stress reduction, mediation and conflict resolution, anger management, emotional transformation and healing, and healthy and intelligent decision making in everyday life. Ciborski began his spiritual path by living as a monk for seven years in Plum Village, France, where he worked intimately with the Vietnamese Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh and the monastic community to organize, support and offer meditation retreats around the world.
This program is part of the Rothko Chapel's ongoing efforts to explore emerging spiritualities as well as the teachings of the world's venerable religious traditions.
