Interfaith service and discussion
Reverend Kimberly Orr, Imam Abdullah Oduro, Claire Villareal, and Rabbi Roy Walter
The Human Trafficking Interfaith Service at the Rothko Chapel is the culminating event of the second annual Faith and Freedom Weekend that is part of Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition's Human Trafficking Awareness Month. This year, representatives from each of the city's four largest faith communities (Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, and Jewish) will discuss their faith's response to slavery, both historically and in contemporary times. The speakers will be the Reverend Kimberly Orr from Windsor Village United Methodist Church; Imam Abdullah Oduro; Claire Villareal from Dawn Mountain Tibetan Temple; and Rabbi Roy Walter of Congregation Emanu El. Discussion and a question and answer session with the audience will follow the service.
