Abstract

Debbie Mills, Breath Meditation Suggested donation $10

Direct your mind to different chakra points in the body while using mantra, slowly integrating deeper breath awareness. As the practice progresses, the breath will become regulated and synchronized with the mantra. The ultimate focus will be on lengthening the hold after exhalation, cultivating a natural and effortless state of non-grasping in the mind. Debbie Mills has been a practitioner of yoga and massage for over 20 years. She has studied extensively with Srivatsa Ramaswami, with whom she is a senior student, and also with renowned ayurvedic scholar, Dr. Robert Svoboda. She has a private practice in Houston, and has taught immersion courses and retreats in the UK and Europe, as well as specialized in yoga treks in the Himalayas of India and Nepal for nearly a decade. The series is co-sponsored by Ligmincha Texas Institute, The Jung Center of Houston, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the Rothko Chapel.
