Abstract

Jerry Webber, Ph.D., Christian Tradition Suggested donation $10

Contemplative prayer in the Christian tradition is an act of silent “centering” in which we receive, then let go of thoughts, ideas, and mental noise in order to attend to our deep interior connection with God, self, others, and the created world. Contemplative prayer offers a meditative framework for this receiving and letting go. For the last 23 years, Dr. Jerry Webber has given himself to the exploration of prayer and soul. To that end, he is an author and teacher, as well as leading The Center for Christian Spirituality, an intentional ministry of spirituality and contemplative life offered at Chapelwood United Methodist Church.
