Abstract
Rev. Laura Mayo, Christian Tradition
Suggested donation $10
This meditation is inspired by the contemplative practices of the Christian tradition. We will use contemplative prayer and lectio divine to connect to the season of Advent, a season where Christians prepare for the birth of Jesus. The season might open hope, joy, love, and peace to each of us as we consider what we are awaiting, what we are hoping to bring into being, and what is becoming incarnate in each of us. Rev. Laura Mayo is the Senior Minister of Covenant Church: an Ecumenical, Liberal, Baptist Congregation in Houston. She is a graduate of Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee and Wake Forest University Divinity School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The series is co-sponsored by Ligmincha Texas Institute, The Jung Center of Houston, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the Rothko Chapel.
