Jimmy Carter letter dated February 28 2021
To the Rothko Chapel
Rosalynn and I are pleased to congratulate you on your 50th anniversary. Since your founding by Dominique and John de Menil, you have embodied their mission of creating opportunities for spiritual growth and discussion that illuminate our shared humanity, striving for a world where all are treated with dignity and respect. The Rothko Chapel provides a sanctuary for dialogue, prayer, worship, and action, supporting the de Menils' strong commitment to human rights by providing a rallying place for those concerned with peace, freedom, and social justice.
We were honored to know Mr.s de Menil as a Carter Center Founder, donor, and collaborator in our work. We celebrate her legacy and look forward to your next 50 years of offering hope for a troubled world.
With best wishes,
Sincerely,
Jimmy Carter
