Abstract
Rev. Laura Mayo, Christian Tradition
This meditation considers Luke 3:1-6, which speaks of preparing for the way for the Lord. As Christians move into the Advent season, they wait expectantly for Jesus. The incarnation of the divine in a the form of a little babe is made real to them anew each year through the season of hope, joy, love, and peace. Rev. Laura Mayo is the Minister of Congregational Life at Covenant Church in Houston. She is a graduate of Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee and Wake Forest University Divinity School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Laura is on the Board of the Alliance of Baptists. Laura and her partner, Nicholas Stepp have a son, Owen.
Experience the contemplative side of the world’s great religious traditions with guided meditations offering an opportunity for healing and spiritual development. The series is co-sponsored by Ligmincha Texas Institute, The Jung Center of Houston, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the Rothko Chapel.
