Dedicated in 1971, Barnett Newman’s Broken Obelisk stands in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the reflecting pool of the Rothko Chapel. The time lapse video documents the sculpture’s installation last month upon its return to Houston following a 10-month treatment to perform internal structural improvements as part of a regular maintenance cycle.
