Abstract
Community Workshop
Sharon Salzberg and Tenzin Robert Thurman, Ph.D.
Presented in partnership with Dawn Mountain
“Whenever you are confronted with an opponent, conquer him with love.” ―Mahatma Gandhi
Dawn Mountain and the Rothko Chapel invite you to a delightful day of training and dialogue on the benefits of leading a mindful, love-filled life. Celebrated Buddhist scholars and teachers Sharon Salzberg and Tenzin Robert Thurman, Ph.D., lead a community workshop based on their 2013 book Love Your Enemies: How to Break the Anger Habit & Be a Whole Lot Happier. Salzberg and Thurman offer insights and techniques that equip participants to feel lovingly connected to oneself and one another. Tenzin Robert Thurman, Ph.D. is a professor of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies at Columbia University and the author of Inner Revolution among other popular books. Sharon Salzberg co-founded the Insight Meditation Society and has been teaching meditation for more than 30 years. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller Real Happiness and, most recently, Real Happiness at Work. Joining Salzberg and Thurman on the program as moderators are Dawn Mountain co-founders Anne Klein and Harvey Aronson. Anne is a Professor of Religious Studies at Rice University and author of Meeting the Great Bliss Queen. Harvey is a psychotherapist and teacher and author of Buddhist Practice on Western Ground. A book signing and reception follow the program.
This workshop is also available via live webcast from the Rothko Chapel.
