01. Framed print, Emilio Greco “Studio per Il Monumento a Pappa Giovanni in San Pietro, 1965” (32 x 27) Note: Pope John XXIII, also known as Papa Giovanni and Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, promoted ecumenical movements in cooperation with other Christian faiths1. He was the head of the Roman Catholic Church from 28 October 1958 to his death in 1963. The changes he introduced into the Church included reforms, ecumenism, and a new approach to the world. The Second Vatican Council, held from 1962 to 1965, was announced by Pope John XXIII as a means of spiritual renewal for the church and an occasion for Christians separated from Rome to join in a search for Christian unity.
