Abstract

Karen Maezen Miller Suggested donation $10

How can we access the spiritual in everyday life? Author and Zen Buddhist teacher Karen Maezen Miller shares the wisdom she has gleaned from our natural world, ending with a seated meditation. A former Houstonian, Miller is a priest at the Hazy Moon Zen Center in Los Angeles and the author of several books on finding spirituality in ordinary places. Her most recent is Paradise in Plain Sight: Lessons from a Zen Garden about the lessons of clarity and compassion found in caring for the century-old garden in her backyard. A book signing and reception on the plaza follows the program.
