Abstract
Official State Musician of Texas Sara Hickman returns to launch the Rothko Chapel’s 2014 Summer Sounds on the Plaza series featuring Texas artists and their children. Sara, husband Lance Schriner, and daughter io hickman-schriner rock the plaza with joyful, captivating music. Sara has released more than 15 albums, the most recent of which is Shine. She is an avid supporter of various charities benefiting children, women, and health. In addition to a litany of music awards, she has been awarded the Humana "Women Helping Women" award for her generous work with such organizations as Safe Place, Habitat for Humanity, House the Homeless, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Race for the Cure. Yeti Sunshine is on site selling snowballs, in addition to free beer from Saint Arnolds and snacks. Bring your family, friends, and a blanket, and enjoy a summer night of music!
