Abstract

To celebrate the Houston Museum District Association's Museum Experience, the Rothko Chapel hosts a day full of events in conjunction with The Menil Collection and Houston Center for Photography. In addition, Oh My! Pocket Pies is selling delicious treats on the plaza.

11am – 6pm Photo scavenger Hunt! Houston Center for Photography dares you to be creative and capture with your camera details from the buildings and nature surrounding the organizations in zone 1.

11:15am-11:45am Concert in the park with school kids presented by Da Camera.

12pm-1pm Writers in the Schools (WITS) host a workshop and readings at The Menil Collection.

1pm– 2pm Kids and parents can take a Tai Chi class together at the Rothko Chapel.

2:00pm, 2:45pm and 3:30pm Three simultaneous musical performances by Da Camera Young Artists featuring the music of J.S. Bach and Matthias Pintscher amongst the work of Cy Twombly; Celestial works by John Luther Adams for strings, harp, celeste, and vibraphones at the Rothko Chapel; and featuring Prokofiev’s Quintet for strings and wind at Houston Center for Photography.
