Abstract
A Spiritual and Pragmatic Approach
to Climate Change and Sustainability
with Diana Petrochelli, Permaculturist and Corporate Consultant
The Rothko Chapel
February 4, 2008, 7:30 pm
Reception will follow
Join us at The Rothko Chapel for an evening of dialogue about how to combat climate change from the grassroots as well as the top down. Diana Petrochelli will share her expertise in designing ecologically sustainable communities in Argentina and Equatorial Guinea where she taught people how to build natural homes, grow their own food, restore diminished landscapes and ecosystems, catch rainwater and build sustainable communities.
Diana Petrochelli, director and one of the founders of Corporate Sustainability Resources, is at the forefront of grassroots movements to combat climate change and create new mindsets in our society. Her work explores the link between three of humanity’s most critical concerns: environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment.
The evening will be hosted by Patricia Gras, seasoned international journalist and host of the HoustonPBS series, Living Smart with Patricia Gras.
This event is part of a series of educational and community events held in conjunction with the upcoming FRONTLINE documentary, Heat airing in April on HoustonPBS. FRONTLINE producer, Martin Smith, travels the globe to discover what big business is willing and able to do to address the world’s climate problem.
