Abstract
with Ilan Pappé, Israeli Historian
Israeli historian Ilan Pappé, author with Noam Chomsky of the newly-released book Gaza in Crisis: Reflections on Israel’s War Against the Palestinians, will speak at the Rothko Chapel. Born in Haifa, Israel to German-Jewish parents who fled Nazi persecution, Pappé is professor of history at the University of Exeter, where he is also co-director of the Exeter Center for Ethno-Political Studies and director of the Palestine Studies Center. He is the author of the bestselling books The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, A History of Modern Palestine, and The Israel/Palestine Question. Journalist John Pilger has called him “Israel’s bravest, most principled, most incisive historian.”
