Abstract

Joseph Newland, Sufi Tradition Suggested donation $10

Participants use breath practices, new frontiers of cosmology, the art of light, and light on art to enter into meditation. Joseph Newland is a long-time meditator who has sat with various groups, and in 1981 became a student of Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan. A representative of the Sufi Order International, he is a lover of light, a believer in the unity of religious ideals, and especially fond of the epiphany of the everyday. The series is co-sponsored by Ligmincha Texas Institute, The Jung Center of Houston, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the Rothko Chapel.
